This drop ring pull was used on Eastlake period furniture, and is etched with an intricate crisscross pattern.  The mounting plate is pressed and the ring, cast. 
 
It is available in unlacquered brass, which will acquire a patina with time, and antiqued brass, which has an applied rich patina.  Also available in polished nickel
