Our 1-3/4" backset mortise bolts are perfect on doors with narrow stiles.  We recommend our turn pieces and emergency release escutcheons for the hall side. A flat head screw driver or a decorative emeregency release key will open the door. Sold separately

Mortise bolts are centered in the door.  The hub needs access from both sides; turn on inside and key on outside.  The turn piece spindle needs to be cut so that it will be in the center of the hub.  This leaves room for emergency access key to go into the hub.
